The early church was a community deeply committed to the sanctity of life…which led to becoming a sexual counterculture. In other words, in the early church the value of a child’s life led to a transformation of sexual behavior towards them, and the value of a woman’s life led to transformation of sexual behavior towards her, and the value of a man’s life led to a transformation of sexual expectations and behavior of him.
