When God speaks blessings most people will listen. Even people who aren’t sure about the whole idea of God will often exclaim, “thank God!” when a good thing occurs. But will we listen when God speaks a hard truth? Will we listen when that truth is counter to our culture? When God’s word seems negative, restrictive, or perhaps offensive to our sensibilities? When God’s word highlights our disobedience and sin will we have ‘ears to hear’?
In Ephesians 4:30, Paul tells us, “and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God by whom you are sealed for the day of redemption”. Pastor Evans helps us to understand that we have all grieved God, we likely will again, and what it means for our relationship with the Holy Spirit of the living God.
