Our lives are bound up in time. Our attitude toward time can be encapsulated in the various famous sayings throughout history.
“Carpe diem”, “live life to the fullest” and “time flies”
Among the writings of Copernicus was found this, “vita brevis, sensus ebes…” Life is short and our senses fail.
Our time is short. On that everyone is in agreement. But should we then attempt to wring out every moment? Squeeze our lives for every second? Or perhaps develop a stoicism. Yes, time is fleeting but to leap about trying to do all things at all times would be fruitless.
How should we view and use our limited time? Are the seasons of our lives simply chance? Can we truly change anything in our time?
