Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven”
If we don’t know the season how can we know if our actions are wisdom or folly? David served God’s purpose in his generation because he knew God’s time and God’s purpose in that time. We too must discern our time. This gift of knowledge, like all good and perfect gifts, comes from God.
Like David, we must pray: Teach me Lord, to count my days – to know and love the generation in which I live. To testify to our time and to our generation the truth of Jesus. That He is the day of salvation over all days. That Jesus is the Lord of all generations. That Jesus Christ is the savior of the world!
