Freedom = a desire + a cost

In the first part of the series “Freedom,” we looked at the secrets that we keep. In this second part we look at the false identities we pursue.

My identity is my imitation or reflection of what I find most valuable—what I believe will give me value, meaning, and purpose in life. But what if my pursuit to be “me” actually leads me further away from the One who gave me life? Can I truly find what I’m looking for away or apart from Him?

In the end we discover that even if we finally fit in or stand out we cannot truly find our identity there. Why? Because all of that will change and so, then, will our sense of self and worth. What we need and want is an unchanging, everlasting love.
