This sermon is preached by Robbie Evans.
God has come not to be far away but to be present in our midst. The Ark of the Covenant represented God’s throne, his rule and presence among his people.
King Josiah had a heart for God and so reformed the kingdom and restored the temple. In the process, Josiah returned the Ark to the holy of holies. But when did it leave? Where had it gone?
There are moments when it seems God’s presence disappears from our life. We don’t know when, we don’t know where. We find that we replace God with idols in our heart and we change the direction of our life by following things both bad and good, but not the ultimate good, which is Jesus.
