“Change is here to stay.” Change is the only constant.” It’s true. We live in a world that is constantly changing, which means we are constantly changing, both voluntarily and involuntarily.
But there’s a kind of change, a “being transformed”, that will outlast the changes of this world and the changes we experience in it. It’s this “glory” that Paul speaks of in this sermon.
In the end, we “behold” this “new creation”: Jesus didn’t die so that you could obey him; He died so that he could make you new, so that he could live in you, so that you might experience new and abundant life in your obedience and not because of it.
